Rosemary Cottage offers delightful accommodation close to the historical market town of Sanquhar, in the Dumfries & Galloway region of western Scotland...
The region is renowned for its stunning countryside. From the rocky and sandy coastline, to the lush green inland forests and rolling hills, walkers, cyclists and nature lovers are in their element here.
Sanquhar itself boasts a life museum which reveals much of the town’s history. It also claims to be home to the oldest post office in the world. Various shops can be found on the traditional High Street.
|Drumlanrig Castle is only 10miles away! One of Britain’s most majestic castles, a visit is well worth its while; with architectural and cultural tours, outdoor activities and country fairs, it’s all to see and do here!||
For the food lovers among us, the local Michelin starred Blackaddie Hotel not only offers 'some of the best food to be found in Scotland', but is also reputed as having a resident ghost!
At Rosemary Cottage, Alex is most definitely the hostess with the mostess! Having lovingly and thoughtfully converted the first floor of her home into very large guest accommodation with an en suite bathroom. This accommodation has two double beds with room for travel cots and/or children's camping beds, and of course all the necessary tea and coffee making facilities!
Alex speaks very good French and welcomes people from all over the world who wish to visit Scotland for its amazing heritage and to improve their English while enjoying a more homestay feel to their trip.
The latest addition to the cottage includes a new garden studio apartment, exclusive for single guests that are looking for a sanctuary from the real world.
Your hostess would be happy to arrange some deer stalking on the local estate where day permits for trout and salmon fishing are also available. There's also a golf course only 5 minutes away!
Please feel free to contact Alex for more information...
